STAND-UP is back from its summer holidays in Colwyn Bay next weekend.

The Station's monthly comedy club, Stand up at the Seaside, returns with the cream of British comedy talent in the shape of Harriet Dyer, Penella Mellor and headliner Alex Boardman on Saturday September 29 at 8pm.

Boardman a regular at the Comedy Store in Manchester and resident MC of its new acts night, is a 20-year circuit veteran whose writing and performing credits include 8 out of 10 cats and John Bishop’s Britain.

Support comes from the wonderful Harriet Dyer, whose surreal story-telling have established her as one of the fastest-rising stars of UK comedy, while Penella Mellor returns to Colwyn Bay to entertain with her darkly hilarious tales of modern parenting.

Resident MC and Colwyn Bay local Dave Rothnie will keep the evening ticking over as well as running the now-famous joke competition, where audience members are invited to submit a gag with the best winning a prize.

Tohnie said: “It’s great to be back after the summer and we’ve got brilliant nights lined up between now and December,” said Rothnie. “Large parties are welcome, especially those celebrating birthdays, or anything for that matter. As the nights draw in and autumn arrives, live comedy comes into its own.”+

Tickets are £12.50, with table reservations for parties of four available. For information or to book contact dcrothnie@gmail.com or The Station on 01492 532818.
