LOCAL company Chivas Brothers have won Distillery of the Year.
The Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, is celebrating another successful year at the San Francisco World Spirits competition after winning the top honour along with a Double Gold medal and five Gold medals.
The competition was particularly successful for The Glenlivet, the No 2 single malt whisky in the world, with the Glenlivet Distillery winning Tasting Panel Magazine"s Distillery of the Year. The Glenlivet 18 Year Old was awarded a much sought after Double Gold for the second year running while The Glenlivet 15 Year Old and The Glenlivet 21 Year Old both scooped Gold medals.
The success of the Chivas Brothers malt whisky portfolio was added to with Aberlour, the leading single malt brand in France, winning a Gold medal for its 12 Year Old expression.
Both Beefeater London Dry Gin 47% and Plymouth Gin won Gold medals highlighting the unrivalled Chivas Brothers premium gin portfolio.

The annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition was the first comprehensive international spirits judging held in the United States and continues to grow year on year.
