Barry Colquhoun, 30, George Noon, 27, and Tony Boyd, 26, today faced the claims at a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

The trio are accused – along with an unknown individual – of trying to kill Gerald Davidson in Stewart Street, Barrhead, Renfrewshire on December 8 last year.

The attempted murder charge includes an allegation that Mr Davidson was repeatedly struck on the body with swords.

The indictment states Mr Davidson is now deceased.

The three are also charged with behaving in a threatening manner on December 6 or 7 by brandishing pick axe handles, baseball bats or similar items.

Noon is then accused of assaulting Stefan Gormley on those same dates to the danger of his life.

Noon faces a final allegation that he was involved in an assault of Annette Boyd which included demands being made to know the whereabouts of Gerald Davidson.

Colquhoun, of Johnstone along with Noon and Boyd, both of Barrhead, all pled not guilty to the accusations they face.

Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to take place in Glasgow in April next year.
