THE new East Renfrewshire Carers Forum has its first meeting on Thursday (January 19) in Eastwood House from 7pm to 9pm, and will aim to provide unpaid carers with the opportunity to hear about the East Renfrewshire's Carers Strategy and also discuss how carers can have an active part in influencing local and national decisions and services which affect carers.
A number of organisations are working together to ensure carers have the opportunity to be actively involved in the development of the strategy that really meets the needs of carers and continues to do so throughout the strategy's lifespan.
The initial meeting wil discuss the development of a carers' forum and discuss how the forum can link to the planning structures within East Renfrewshire.
