Rapist's court battle

A VICIOUS Barrhead rapist has lost an appeal to be freed from jail - but has won the right to fight his eight-year sentence.

Twisted John Munro, 37, failed in his bid to clear his name this week.

The sick attacker almost killed his teenage victim during a horrific sex ordeal in an alley off Cross Arthurlie Street in Barrhead.

But the Barrhead News can today reveal that Munro, pictured right, could still win a reduction on the prison term for the rape.
