Members of a Barrhead trampoline club are jumping for joy after they were selected to compete for Scotland.

Following success in one international competition and three British qualifiers, kids from the Alba club will now have the chance to represent their country against rivals from other home nations.

In order to qualify for the Scotland team, the trampolinists had to securee place in the top two spots in the country.

The UK-wide competition takes place in Birmingham in June, with Alba’s high performance coach Helen Aird joining her members as part of the management team.

She said: “We have had a few reasons to celebrate recently. Not only have some of our team members been selected for the Scotland regional team but one of our trampolinists, Katie Gallacher, recently won the seniors category at the Cascais Beach Cup in Portugal, which is a massive achievement.

“I have also been lucky enough to be selected as a coach for the Scotland team, so I will get to join the kids when they compete in June.”

Alba Trampoline Club, based at ?the Barrhead Community Sports Hub, has been running for 12 years and welcomes members of all capabilities.
