BARRHEAD High’s annual concert in 2003 was an evening of magical musical entertainment.
Pupils joined forces with children from the school’s associated primaries – Auchenback, Carlibar, Cross Arthurlie and Springhill – to entertain the audience.
Among those in attendance at Paisley Town Hall were Ken MacIntosh MSP, Provost Allan Steele and John Wilson, director of education.
A total of 170 youngsters performed at the event, with Catriona Laverty as compere.
The concert included solo performances from vocalists Victoria Davidson, Jaclyn Bell and Ashley McCullagh, as well as vibrant music from a ceilidh band.
Pupils also thrilled the audience with a guitar ensemble.
The success of the event was the culmination of months of work, not only by pupils in each school but also by instrumental teachers and music staff, under the watchful eye of Tom Ferguson, principal teacher of music.
With a tour of Holland following for the High School Band, there would be little time for relaxation before practice resumed.
