Happy snappers enjoyed a blast from the past as Levern Camera Club staged its Black and White Image competition.

Formed in 2016, the Barrhead-based club now has dozens of members, with many of them submitting entries for the latest contest.

Jim Clark, secretary of Levern Camera Club, said: “We are a small and still relatively new club, so we did the judging ourselves.

“The members came along and marked all of the photographs individually and then we added the various scores together to find the winners.

“I was very impressed by the entries, there were a few real crackers.

“The winner was obviously very good but some of the other shots which didn’t even place were really fantastic.

“People have their own tastes, of course, so the whole thing is very subjective.”

Claiming first place on this occasion was Jim Pyke, who impressed his fellow photographers with an image titled A View to Portencross.

Second and third prizes went to Peter Bauld and Cliff Lockyer respectively for their images, called A Majestic Lighthouse and Rannoch Winter.

Next up for members is a Spring-themed competition, which takes place next month.

Members of Levern Camera Club meet at Fereneze Golf Club, in Fereneze Avenue, at 7.30pm each Wednesday.

New members will be made welcome, regardless of their age or experience in photography.
