A BARRHEAD building firm has also been recognised for excellence at the Glasgow Business Awards.

Renfrewshire South MSP Tom Arthur visited A.C. Whyte this week to congratulate staff on their success.

He also put forward a parliamentary motion at Holyrood to recognise the achievements of the refurbishment and wall insulation providers, who scooped the Excellence in Customer Service award.

After gathering support from a number of his fellow MSPs, including Eastwood’s Jackson Carlaw, Mr Arthur presented the motion to Parliament.

This is the latest in a string of successes for the company, which had previously picked up the Family Business of the Year award three times in a row.

Now in its 45th year, much of the company’s business comes from work with local councils and housing associations in providing refurbishment work on social housing projects.

Jennifer Phin, A.C. Whyte’s managing director, said: “To win this latest award was a huge recognition in itself but for Tom Arthur to recognise it and put it forward in this way is incredible.

“This award was key for us in showing that excellent customer service is intrinsic to A.C.Whyte and every project we are involved with.”
