A Barrhead fashion boutique is all the rage after achieving an impressive win in a prestigious contest.

Moda Dea, in Cross Arthurlie Street, was crowned Best Fashion Boutique at the Glasgow Retail Business Awards.

The store has earned a glowing reputation for its collection of evening wear and accommodating range of sizes, from eight up to 26.

And it was support from happy customers that helped the business achieve the award through a public vote.

Moda Dea owner Rosemarie McInally told the Barrhead News she is thrilled by the store’s success.

She said: “I was totally surprised. There were five other finalists and I didn’t know if we had a chance, so when they said Moda Dea, I nearly fell off of my seat.

“I would like to thank all of our fabulous customers who voted for us and, of course, my staff, who have many years of experience in the fashion industry.

“It was amazing as we were all there at the ceremony. I am so grateful to the people who have helped us get here.”

Having won the regional contest, Moda Dea will now go on to compete for the Scottish title against fashion boutiques from across the country.

The final showdown takes place in June, when the Barrhead store will be up against 13 rivals.

And fashionistas from the local area are being urged to support Moda Dea as it goes for further glory.

Rosemarie added: “We will now be included in the big final in June to see who will be the overall winner in Scotland, so here’s hoping we can make it.

“In the meantime, we are over the moon about our win.”
