ONE lucky child will be given the chance to press the button which sets off Barrhead's festive firework display.
The All About Barrhead steering group, which is overseeing the town's Christmas lights switch-on, has launched a Christmas jumper design competition to determine who that person is.
The winner will also be treated like a VIP for the day by organisers.
Design sheets can be collected from most Barrhead businesses.
The entry forms have also been sent round all of the town's primary schools.
Anyone who is part of a group and who would like a pack of sheets should email info@allaboutbarrhead.co.uk.
Those who share their designs online can use the #BarrheadChristmas to join in the fun and view other entries.
Adults are asked to send little ones' designs to the All About Barrhead social media accounts before Friday, December 1, including the names and ages of each child.
The second Big Barrhead Christmas Lights Switch-on, led by the town's Business Improvement District, will take place on Saturday, December 2.
