A BARRHEAD building firm has been rewarded for its “above and beyond” levels of customer service.

Staff from A.C. White & Co Ltd collected the Excellence in Customer Service gong at the Glasgow Business Awards, hosted by the city’s Chamber of Commerce.

It is the fourth time the company has been formally recognised at the ceremony, having been named Family Business of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Stuart Patrick, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce chief executive, said: “A huge congratulations to A.C. Whyte & Co Ltd for yet another accolade that highlights the standard of excellence provided by the contractor.

“The company, a three-time winner of the Family Business of the Year award, has now been recognised for going above and beyond for its customers.”

Another East Renfrewshire business which tasted success at the Glasgow Business Awards was Big Green Feet, in Giffnock.

The environmental company received the Innovation in Business title for using forward-thinking methods to win grants and sponsorships which help businesses, community-groups and homeowners reduce their carbon footprint.

Mr Patrick added: “A huge congratulations to Big Green Feet for impressing the judges with innovative and creative ideas.

“Not only is the organisation not-for-profit and helping the community, but it is also reducing the carbon footprint of companies across Glasgow, which is a great asset to our business landscape.”

The Glasgow Business Awards celebrate the most innovative and forward-thinking companies and organisations from across the Greater Glasgow area.

Compered by BBC Scotland radio presenter Fred MacAulay, the event at the Hilton Hotel saw a total of 16 awards handed out in front of 650 guests from the city’s business community.
