THIEVES made off with a four-figure sum of jewellery after breaking into a Barrhead home in broad daylight.
Police are now hunting for the crooks who targeted a property in the town's Lochlibo Road last Friday morning.
Sergeant Michael Morganthaler, who is based at Giffnock Police Station, told the Barrhead News: "On Friday morning, between 9.15am and midday, a housebreaking occurred at an address in Lochlibo Road, Barrhead.
"During the course of that housebreaking, a four-figure sum of jewellery was stolen.
"Officers are continuing to make enquiries.
"We would appeal to any persons who were in the vicinity and who may have noticed anything suspicious to contact police on 101.
"Please also ensure your doors and windows are locked during the day and at night."
