GOLDEN bowlers wound back the clock as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the local bowling association.
Barrhead and District Ladies Bowling Association (B and DLBA) was founded in 1997 by the late Jean Spence, of Nitshill and Hurlet Bowling Club, and Liz Wilson, of Neilston Bowling Club, and, since then has gone from strength to strength.
To mark the momemtous milestone, a special event was organised at Nitshill & Hurlet Bowling Club last week.
More than 45 ladies took to the green before tucking into a buffet and long over-due catch up.
The players were also gifted a specially-designed cake donated by Darnley Bowling Club.
During the celebrations, Margaret Morris, president of the association, and a member of Nitshill and Hurlet BC, read from the first ever minute book.
Christine Hughes, match secretary for B and DLBA, said: “Memories were shared and there were a few poignant moments as the group reminisced about the the ladies who are no longer with us.
“There was a lot of friendship and laughter during the day and catching up with old friends.”
