A PENSIONER was taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Barrhead.
The 74-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries after the incident which took place on Carlibar Road close to Millview Care Home.
Another woman, who was driving the other crashed car, left the scene unhurt.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash which took place shortly after 12pm today.
Officers confirmed Carlibar Road and nearby Glasgow Road were closed following the incident. Both roads have since reopened.
Inspector John McQuilter, who is based at Giffnock Police Station, said: "There was an accident on Carlibar Road just after 12pm today.
"It was a two-car road collision. An elderly female was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"The other driver was not hurt."
