IT all got very ‘messie’ at Barrhead Scout Hall as dozens of toddlers were given free range to make as much mess as they wanted.

Youngsters aged from six months to five years were allowed to crawl in and muck around with everything from jelly to flour, without having to worry about getting into trouble from the grown-ups.

The fun sessions for the Barrhead Mini Messies are organised by husband-and-wife team Aisha and Lewis Pollock, whose children, one-year-old Arla and three-year-old Albie, were also among those who went along to enjoy the latest event.

Children moved around 10 stations, set up within the hall, where they could play with a host of things that were non-toxic and, in some cases, edible.

Aisha said: “Mini Messies are held once a month and, very often, older siblings come along to help out. Saturday’s event had a Spring theme. It is now the eighth themed event since we began the Mini Messies last October.”

The next event will have a summer beach theme and will take place at Barrhead Scout Hall on Saturday, June 3.

Aisha added: “We also hold events at local nurseries and additional support needs groups.”

Older children in the Barrhead area are also welcome to find out more about their local Scout groups, with regular sessions held for Cubs, Beavers, Scouts and Explorers.
