DANCE mania swept through a Barrhead primary school as pupils enjoyed the chance to show off their fancy footwork.

Youngsters from every class at Springhill and Auchenback Primary got in the groove for some fundraising fun.

The event was organised by teacher Kirstie Graham and her pupils in primary six, who raised £140 through sponsorship for a local charity which sends aid to poverty-stricken families in Malawi, Africa.

And to give the day a professional touch, the Active Schools team arranged for Gillian Anderson, from Le Dance Studio, in Barrhead, to provide expert tips to the older pupils.

This saw the talented youngsters learning a nifty dance routine to accompany the song September, from the smash hit film Trolls.

Meanwhile, the wee ones in primaries one to three learned steps from the Just Dance rhythm game and showed you are never too young to boogie.

Kirstie was delighted with the success of the event and has thanked those parents who went along to see the children perform.

She said: “It was a good laugh and the kids loved every minute of it.”
