THERE has been plenty going on at St Luke’s High – and the school’s Press Club has covered it all.

Second year reporters have been scribbling and typing away from as far afield as France to ensure Barrhead News readers are kept abreast of all things St Luke’s High.

Jennifer Jones chose to document her and her classmates’ time in Disneyland Paris, while fellow Press Club members Emily Wilson and Trudi Logan reported on a cross country race.

Here is Jennifer’s article:

THE pupils of St Luke’s High took a trip to Disneyland in Paris.

After a very long bus trip and an exciting trip in the Eurotunnel, they arrived in the Sequoia Lodge in Disneyland to some very lovely rooms.

There was breakfast in the hotel every day. On Monday they arrived in the city of Paris for a trip to see monuments all over the French capital.

They saw the Eiffel Tower and climbed the Arc de Triomphe. That night they went to the Bill’s Wild West Show for dinner and a fabulous show.

On Tuesday everyone enjoyed a fun day in the parks and a dinner in the Café Mickey.

On Wednesday everyone was allowed back in the parks and later that day was the bus trip back home. After returning home, everyone must complete a maths homework challenge.

While some students were broadening their cultural horizons in mainland Europe, others were donning their trainers to represent the school’s cross country team.

Press Club journalists Emily and Trudi worked together to produce an account of the event which is included below:

SOME pupils of St Luke’s High were selected to take part in a cross country run which took place in Rouken Glen Park on Thursday, March 2.

They were taken by some of the school’s PE teachers including Mrs Hollerin and Miss Michel. The pupils travelled by coach to the park and they met various other schools.

Once the races commenced the pupils cheered on their friends and even some family members came to support their child/children and their friends.

As we participated in this event in the S2 girls run, we know how challenging the conditions were.

Our school even won a second place medal and another young athlete won 11th place.
