SCOTRAIL services between Helensburgh and Glasgow are returning to normal after a report of a person being hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to an incident near Hyndland station in Glasgow’s west end at around 4.45pm on Monday.

Trains on the Helensburgh-Edinburgh, Dalmuir-Whifflet, Dalmuir-Cumbernauld, Dalmuir-Motherwell, Balloch-Airdrie and Springburn-Milngavie routes were all subject to disruption, delay or cancellation.

Around an hour later ScotRail said the emergency services had declared it was safe to run trains again, but that disruption was expected to continue until around 7pm until staff and trains were back in position.
