GIFFNOCK's Christmas light switch-on event that was set to take place tomorrow has been cancelled.
It comes after East Renfrewshire Council took to social media to deliver the devastating news.

In a statement, issued on behalf of Giffnock Village, it said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we regret to inform you that the Christmas Lights Switch On event in Giffnock Village will not be going ahead as planned tomorrow.
"We send our sincere apologies to all our loyal supporters, families who were looking forward to attending, local businesses and entertainers.
"We will, however, be back soon with more fun events and look forward to seeing you all back in Giffnock Village."
