PLANS to turn a former bank in Thornliebank into a new restaurant have been submitted to the council.

It comes after a planning application to reinstate numbers 83 and 85 Main Street into two individual units was validated by the local authority on Tuesday, August 15.

The plans would then see number 83 be turned into a restaurant and a hot food takeaway and a new shopfront be created.

Currently, the building is abandoned after being used as a bank.

On top of that, an application has also been submitted to turn 85 Main Street into another hot food takeaway store.

East Renfrewshire Council are yet to decide on the plans.
