TWO people have been rushed to hospital following a three-vehicle smash in Uplawmoor this morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to a road traffic accident on Lochlibo Road at around 7.30am on Monday, August 14.

The service mobilised two appliances and a heavy rescue vehicle to the scene. 

It is understood three people received precautionary checks from the Scottish Ambulance Service, while two people were taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for SFRS said: "We were called to assist emergency service partners at a road traffic accident involving three vehicles on Lochlibo Road, Uplawmoor at 7.30am on Monday, August 14.

“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances and a heavy rescue vehicle to the scene.

“Three casualties received precautionary checks from the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene at 8.10am after ensuring the area was safe.” 

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “We were called around 7.20am on Monday, August 14, to a report of a crash involving three cars on Lochlibo Road, Uplamoor.

“Emergency services attended and two people were taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital for treatment.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 7.24am this morning to attend a road traffic collision on Lochlibo Road, East Renfrewshire.

"We dispatched three ambulances and the SORT team to the scene and two patients were transported to hospital.”
