Motorists could be key to helping cops find a missing man who was last seen on a busy road heading out of Glasgow.

Police Scotland officers investigating the disappearance of Stephen McPhail from the city's Drumchapel have asked motorists to check their dash-cam footage after he was spotted walking along the A82 on Saturday morning.

The 43-year-old, who is known as Stef, was last seen at around 9.25am walking towards Dumbarton on the A82 Great Western Road near to the Auchentoshan Distillery.

Inspector Paul Daley, of Partick Police Station, said: “As time goes on Stephen’s family are becoming increasingly concerned for him, it is completely out of character for him to disappear like this.

“We have since found a sighting of him walking along the A82 out of the city and we are appealing for anyone who was driving along the A82 between 9 am and 10 am with dash-cam footage to come forward. You may have passed him without realising.

“Stephen, if you see this, we would ask you to come forward and let us know you are okay.”
