DRUGS worth more than £130,000 were seized from a property in Barrhead, it has been revealed.
The latest meeting of Barrhead Community Council heard a large quantity of cannabis was seized during the raid on a flat in the town’s Dalveen Court.
A police spokesman later confirmed that five men, aged between 25 and 40, from East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and Ayrshire, were detained as a result of the swoop, which took place on May 7.
He added: “Officers executed a sheriff’s drug search warrant at an address in Barrhead.
“Drugs with an estimated street value in excess of £136,000 were seized.
“Five men were arrested and detained in police custody, to appear at court the next day.”
