FANS of cult TV series Game of Thrones are being offered counselling as the epic fantasy comes to an end.

The iconic show was first aired in 2011 but, after eight seasons, will conclude in the early hours of Monday morning.

Now an online firm is giving viewers in East Renfrewshire the chance to connect with a qualified counsellor if they have been left distraught by the thought of missing out on their regular 'fix' of telly drama.

Counsellors will be on hand via Bark.com from Monday for upset fans who would like to talk about how they feel regarding the series ending and receive expert advice on how to deal with their 'loss.'

However, the service will come at a price, with a 30-minute session expected to cost £20.

Kai Feller, co-founder of Bark.com, told the Barrhead News: “Game of Thrones is one of the most popular TV programmes of our time, so I’m not surprised that people are devastated it’s going to end.

"As ever, we want to provide services that are of value to customers and I think there will be a fair amount of superfans out there who will need to chat with a professional when the show ends.”

The final episode of Game of Thrones will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am on Monday, with a repeat showing at 9pm.
