NURSERY pupils at Crookfur Primary will move to a new building from August next year.

The class will be based at Crookfur Family Centre, which is being built to replace Crookfur Pavilion.

Crookfur Primary headteacher Sheena McGuigan will manage the family centre, which will be open all year round rather than just during term time.

It will also be able to offer more places than currently available at the school.
The move is part of East Renfrewshire Council’s early years expansion plan, in response to changes introduced by the Scottish Government.

Mhairi Shaw, the council’s director of education, said: “The aim of our expansion plan is to offer families more opportunities for flexibility and choice for their early learning and childcare needs.

“Creating these new facilities will help us to achieve this.”
