A DOG walker suffered cuts to his head after being glassed by a thug in a Renfrewshire street.

The 50-year-old victim was walking with his dog in Blackstoun Oval, near St Fergus’ Church, Paisley, at around 8.15pm on Saturday when the unprovoked attack took place.

Police said he was approached from behind by a yob who struck him with a glass bottle.

He suffered cuts to the top of his head and his left ear, as well as damage to cartilage on his right ear, and was taken to the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.

His dog was also hurt during the attack.

The thug is described as in his late 40s to early 50s and was wearing grey clothes.
