VITAL funds for life-saving devices were raised at a special Salvation Army event in Barrhead.
More than £400 was coined in for the Levern Valley Defibrillator Community Partnership from the ‘Keep the Beat’ fundraiser, which took place at the charity’s venue in Barrhead’s Main Street on Saturday.
The afternoon saw a variety of music groups performing, including Rockus Community Choir, The Ukelele Group and the Salvation Army’s own Timbrel Group.

Douglas Yates, chairman of the Levern Valley Defibrillator Community Partnership, said: “It was a good crowd. We will be putting the money towards more defibrillators for around the town. The more money we raise, the more defibrillators we can buy. It also goes towards the training expenses too.”

Mr Yates added the Waterbabies group and Howdens Joinery both donated £100 each to the campaign.
