EVERYTHING was in full bloom as members of the Barrhead and District Horticultural Society staged their biannual flower show.

The event took place at St Andrew’s Parish Church on Saturday and saw an array of colours on show as green-fingered guests enjoyed a supply of tea, coffee and cakes.

The club made £580 from the event, which attracted scores of visitors.

Money generated through the flower shows is split between club funds and a chosen charity.
Fred Boyd, a member of the Barrhead and District Horticultural Society, said: “It was a smashing day.

“We had a display of beautiful flowers, including the likes of hyacinth and daffodils. You name it, we had it.

“We hold the flower show every six months and take in turns what we raise the money for – either charity or the club.

“Our chosen charity is always Accord Hospice, in Paisley.”
