BABIES and tots were bitten by the bookbug as they embraced the magical world of storytelling at an East Renfrewshire library.
The event, led by organiser June Lamont, saw youngsters enjoy a fun-filled morning at Mearns Library, where reading, singing and dancing were all on offer.
It was one of a number of Bookbug sessions that are staged at various locations during term time, with youngsters in Barrhead, Busby, Clarkston, Eaglesham, Neilston and Thornliebank also able to join in the fun.
The aim is to encourage tots to pick up a book from a young age – sparking their imagination and enhancing their learning in the process.
Bookbug gatherings take place in the library at the Barrhead Foundry at 10.30am on Wednesdays, for babies aged up to 18 months, at 10.30am on Fridays, for toddlers aged between 18 months to four years, and at 11.30am on Sundays, for any child aged up to four years.
The fun at Neilston Library takes place at 9.30am on Tuesdays, for toddlers aged between 18 months and four years, and at 9.30am on Wednesdays, for babies aged up to 18 months.
