A ROD Stewart tribute night got out of hand after a 32-year-old man was arrested for an alleged serious assault.
The man was detained on suspicion of striking a 23-year-old man with a bottle following the event at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew.
The incident happened at around 1.15am on Sunday as people were leaving the venue. Police believe the attack was aimed at someone else other than the victim.
The suspect was charged with one serious assault and two common assaults and was due to appear in court this morning.
