BARRHEAD’S Boys’ Brigade coffee morning was an ‘outstanding’ success.

With 150 people attending the event on Saturday at St Andrew’s Parish Church, more than £800 was raised for the club.

Jim Glen, one of the leaders for the 1st Barrhead Boys’ Brigade, said: “It was an outstanding morning.

“We had more than 150 people attend, and we raised £827.95. It was a real success and it brought the community in to support it.

“It was a team effort. There are around 12 of us leaders that are involved and we all play a part.

“Our church community members are very much involved as well.

“The Levern Camera Club attended. They have previously done a focus camera group for our older boys, which saw us working together with them, and we had other local internal stalls which ran things like bottle stalls and books and so on.”

The group are always recruiting members.
