A MAN remains in hospital after he was allegedly hit over the head with a bottle in Renfrew. 

The 36-year-old is said to have been attacked in a property in the town's Ferguson Street at around 6pm on Monday. 

He was rushed to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital where he is continuing to be treated for wounds to his head. 

Two men, aged 36 and 39, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are due to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow. 

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of a man being injured in an altercation in a flat in Ferguson Street.

"Emergency services attended and a 36-year-old man was taken to the RAH.

"A 36-year-old man and 39-year-old man have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident."
