KIDS in Neilston got busy learning about protecting the environment during a run of special classes for the mid-term break.

The classes at Neilston Development Trust (NDT), provided by community sustainability project Get Local, educated children in a range of ways about how they could care for the world around them, while having plenty of fun in the process.

On the Friday of half-term, kids enjoyed an arts and crafts class with Barrhead-based Mama Jules Art House.

The focus was on getting creative with recycled, natural products, so youngsters could learn how to make the most of reusable materials.

NDT Cycling also organised a games session, with the children able to ride around on their bikes, learning about an environmentally-friendly way to travel.

And The Conservation Volunteers visited the trust to show everyone how to make eco-friendly bird-feeders.

All of the classes were funded by Get Local, in accordance with the Climate Challenge Fund.

The trust also runs free cookery classes on Thursday nights, from 6.30pm to 8pm, through the Climate Challenge Fund.
