ROYAL Mail bosses have praised East Renfrewshire’s posties after targets for delivering first-class mail on time were met.
Figures for the first three-quarters of the 2018/19 financial year show that 93.3 per cent of this mail in the G postcode area, which includes East Renfrewshire, was delivered by the next working day.
This exceeds the regulatory first-class mail target of 93 per cent.
Royal Mail is the only UK mail delivery company required to publish Quality of Service performance against delivery targets every quarter.
Steve Selby, Royal Mail’s delivery director, said the organisation takes its Quality of Service requirements “extremely seriously.”
He added: “I’m very proud of our postmen and women who work very hard in all weathers to deliver to these challenging targets, which are among the most demanding anywhere in Europe.
“We’re delighted with our performance in this area.
“We are more focused than ever on continuously improving and maintaining high standards of service for our customers.”
