FRIENDS of Glasgow singer Charly Houston - who was found dead at her Southside home last month - have honoured her request to release one of her songs.

The Evening Times reported last month how messages of love had been posted online after the death of the well-loved singer-songwriter at the age of 24.

Her self-produced, self-written track “Hospital Bed” has been described as an ‘“80s influenced synth-pop track” containing melancholic, heartfelt lyrics that describe her struggle with mental health.

A close pal of the late singer said: “Charly’s talent, beautiful voice and soul is missed greatly by all who knew her.

“We hope the song connects with others and encourages them to speak out about their own mental health struggles and to seek help.

“They are not alone and they are worth their weight in gold. This world needs them in it.”

All proceeds from the track released on February 25 will be donated to SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
