HEAVY rain and strong winds are set to descend on Glasgow later this week.
Showers will roll in across the city this morning and are set to stay put until Thursday, with very heavy rain forecast for Wednesday.
Strong southwestern winds are also expected to hit with highs of just 9C.

But, it's not all doom and gloom for the city's weather forecast.
Signs that impressively warm air is likely to surge towards the UK and Ireland later next week.

If it happens, there's a chance that the record for the UK's warmest February day (19.7C) could be challenged.

February has already proven to be remarkably mild considering last year's Beast from the East and there's hope it could heat up.
This weekend, the rain is set to clear with mainly dry spells across Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will peak at around 13C on Saturday with 11C to be the warmest on Sunday.
However, a surge of warm air making its way to the UK could change that.
According to weatherman Liam Dutton, the extra heat could bump up temperatures across the country this weekend.
