A CHILDREN’S charity has thanked East Renfrewshire residents for their continued support.
Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo’s Scotland, paid tribute to those who have given custom to the charity’s fundraising stores, as well as those who help out as volunteers.
He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank-you to readers of the Barrhead News for their continued support.
“If they have donated goods or shopped in our stores in Barrhead or Newton Mearns, they have done their part in supporting our local services, as the profits from retail go directly towards supporting the charity’s work with some of the most disadvantaged children and young people in the area.
“In addition, many readers of the Barrhead News have become volunteers for the charity in our services and shops or supported events and some have become foster carers after reading articles in your paper.
“Without this army of support, we simply wouldn’t be able to function.”
There are a number of ways to support the work being carried out by Barnardo’s Scotland in East Renfrewshire. For more details, visit www.barnardos.org.uk/ what_we_do/scotland
