Police hunting a Renfrewshire man who breached the terms of his licence after being released from prison have today issued a fresh appeal for information.

Alexander Muir, from Paisley, was last seen in July and, since then, officers have carried out extensive enquiries across Renfrewshire and elsewhere in bid to trace him.

The 29-year-old is now believed to be in the Ayrshire area.

Muir is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build, with red hair.

Constable Tony Dooner said: “We are issuing a further image of Muir and are re-appealing to the public for any assistance they can provide us in tracing him.

“We would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact officers at Saltcoats via 101."
