A NEILSTON village bar branded the best in East Renfrewshire has made it into a list of MPs' top 50 in the UK.
The Killoch Bar was nominated for the Parliamentary Pub of the Year competition by MP Paul Masterton after winning a hotly-contested poll on social media.
This week it faced off against hundreds of other pubs in the competition which was open to nominations from 650 MPs across the UK.
The final vote took place on Tuesday, January 15, when the majority of MPs were in parliament for the vote on PM Theresa May's Brexit deal.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Masterton said: "Last night an incredibly important vote took place in Parliament.
"No, not that one, but the final of the Parliamentary Pub of the Year competition.
"Unfortunately The Killoch Bar didn't pick up the prize, but they did make it into the top 50 of the national final, which is an amazing achievement."
The winning pub was The Four Elms in Cardiff.
