Youngsters across East Renfrewshire are being encouraged to get creative by designing a garden as part of a nationwide competition.
Environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful is searching for green-fingered young designers to take part in this year’s Design a One Planet Picnic Pocket Garden contest.
Innovative schoolkids are being asked to consider a range of themes in their entries, including gardens that can withstand drought and flooding or that would thrive in coastal or wetland locations.
Eve Keepax, food and environment officer at Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: “Our annual One Planet Picnic Pocket Garden competition is a practical and fun way for pupils to learn about food, the environment and biodiversity – all linking to our changing climate.”
Schools are invited to submit their entries no later than Friday, February 8.
