AN East Renfrewshire schoolboy has designs on success after winning a contest to create artwork for a festive card to be sent to the Prime Minister.
Oliver Sass triumphed in the competition organised by East Renfrewshire MP Paul Masterton and Eastwood MSP Jackson Carlaw.
His colourful design features on the front of Christmas cards the politicians have sent to more than 3,000 households in the local area, as well as to 10 Downing Street.
Mr Masterton and Mr Carlaw went along to St Joseph’s Primary, where Oliver is a pupil, to pass on their congratulations.
They also praised 10 runners-up – one from each primary school in East Renfrewshire – who took part in the contest.
Mr Carlaw said: “The efforts put into our Christmas card competition were tremendous and it was really tough to pick a winner.
“We have sent the card to the Prime Minister and it will certainly look good on the mantelpiece at 10 Downing Street.”
