A Barrhead man is facing trial accused of being in possession of of class A drugs in the town.

Gregor Terry is said to have diamorphine, more commonly known as heroin, on him at a flat in Kerr Street, Barrhead, on March 14 this year.

Terry, 38, denies breaking the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the case against him called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court last week.

Terry, of St Mary’s Way Crescent, Barrhead, was not present at the hearing.

But a letter pleading not guilty was submitted on his behalf and Sheriff Lindsey Kooner set a trial for March.
