A SOCIAL care charity raised £100,000 for services dedicated to children’s mental health services through its annual Noel Lunch.

Quarriers, which provides practical care and support for thousands of vulnerable children, adults and families, welcomed comedian Fred MacAuley to the celebration at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel as well as magician Billy Reid.

Guests heard moving accounts of how Quarriers, based near Bridge of Weir, has helped a number of youngsters struggling with mental health, providing practical support to families and teachers.

Alice Harper, Quarriers’ chief executive, said: “Christmas is a time of giving – whether that’s to loved ones, or to those who need it most and our guests certainly illustrated this.

“We are grateful for their generosity and I thank every person who contributed, helping to make the 25th Noel Lunch a special occasion.

“The many services Quarriers provides help to transform the lives of people supported and this can be seen clearly in our children’s mental health services which address a very real issue.”
