ARTISANS, traders and craftspeople from across north Wales will be showcasing their festive creativity at Myddelton College next month.

The Grade II listed school is hosting the fair for the second year running and this year there will be about 40 stalls offering real Christmas trees and wreaths, through to food gifts, gourmet chocolates and art, as well as clothes by brands such as Joules and White Stuff.

Clare Stappleton, from PTA group Friends of Myddelton, said: “The Christmas Fayre will showcase some of the amazing arts, crafts, foods and gifts created here in North Wales to support our amazing, community businesses and help people to shop local.

“Alongside the stalls, the fayre will include festive choral singing, games, competitions and a visit from the our very special guest – Father Christmas – who will be resident in his own grotto for the day."

This year all the stall holders at Myddelton College Christmas Fayre will contribute to a charity raffle, which will help support the Abandoned Animals rescue near Prestatyn.

Myddelton College headteacher, Mark Roberts, said: “As a school we wanted to create a community, family event, where people can shop local and find festive gifts, or stop for a snack and watch some of the fantastic entertainment we have lined up.

“Most of all we hope that this community event will repay some of the incredible goodwill the college has received from Denbighshire and across north Wales and get everyone in the mood for Christmas."

He added: “This year’s charity was put forward by one of our pupils and voted on by the wider school community, so we hope to be able to raise plenty of money for this very worthy cause."

The fair opens at 11.30am on Saturday, December 1.

Entrance is free and parking is available.
