THE annual Light up a Life event will take place at St Vincent’s Hospice this weekend.

A torchlight procession will set off from the new footpath opposite Corseford School at 4pm on Sunday and make its way to the Howwood hospice for a special service at around 4.25pm, with the official lighting and dedication being held shortly after.

Kate Lennon, chief executive of St Vincent’s Hospice, said: “Light up a Life is a chance for all of us to remember a loved one at a time of the year when traditions are important and emotions are heightened.

“This is also a chance to do something truly special by sponsoring a light in memory of a loved one or special occasion and making a difference to those who need it most.

“Every penny raised goes directly towards providing the care and support needed by so many people at this time of year.

“As we come towards the end of our 30th anniversary year, we hope people will wrap up warm and join us for carols, readings, mince pies and hot drinks.”
