A GROUP of young bookworms gathered at the Barrhead Foundry last week for fun and games exploring the Gaelic language.
Parents brought their pre-school children and babies along for free Gaelic activities and Bookbug at Thig a Chluich.
Translated as ‘Come and Play’ in English, Thig a Chluich is a free, inclusive Gaelic-English bilingual group for tots and parents in East Renfrewshire.
With no prior knowledge of Gaelic required, the classes make it easy for everyone to come along without knowing any at all and still join in with everything
At last week’s session, the group had free playtime, with lots of toys to get to grips with.
Meanwhile, parents were able to chat over a cuppa.
Parental advisors were also on hand to help those interested in accessing other Gaelic opportunities.
Thig a Chluich will return to the Foundry on November 16, November 30 and December 14.
