Forestry Commission Scotland is inviting East Renfrewshire residents to join the Diwali Festival of Light event this weekend.
The fun takes place at Dams to Darnley Country Park on Saturday, starting at 2.30pm, and will include fire performances, lantern workshops, storytelling and Diwali snacks.
One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.”
Those who go along can make their own lantern and head out for a walk around the woodlands as the sun sets.
Romena Huq, engagement officer at Forestry Commission Scotland, said: “There is a diverse range of faith groups living in the area and we want to engage with these people and encourage them to learn more about their culture, make use of their woodlands and enjoy what we all share in common – the beauty of nature.”
Those who go along are advised to wear warm clothing.
