VICTIMS of sexual violence in East Renfrewshire will receive the support they need more quickly, thanks to funding being provided to rape crisis centres.
Free and confidential support, information and advocacy is provided through rape crisis centres to those who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives.
Now it has been announced that the Scottish Government is making an extra £74,000 available to the Glasgow and Clyde hub over the next three years.
Christina McKelvie, Minister for Older People and Equalities, is confident the additional cash will help to make a difference to those in need of support.

She said: “We are committed to preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.
“A huge part of delivering on that commitment is ensuring that victims of rape or sexual assault are able to come forward and access the right support when they need it.
“The work that rape crisis centres do is invaluable and this funding will bolster the resource available to ensure that more people can receive support, more quickly.”
