AN estimated 3,000 creepy creatures and ghastly ghouls filled the streets of Barrhead at the weekend as families took part in a very special Hallowe’en event.
Frightening festivities were on offer across the area as the Big Barrhead Hallowe’en Parade saw a host of community groups in freaky fancy dress make their way through the town centre.

Youngsters and their parents had a ball carving some petrifying pumpkins, while circus acts were there to teach visitors some of the tricks of the trade.
As night fell, the eerie entertainment, laid on by local Business Improvement District organisation All About Barrhead, continued with a funfair, fire dancers and a freak-tastic selection of live acts.

Rounding off the celebrations, a spook-tacular display of fireworks lit up the night sky as the ghostly gathering came to an end.
Andy Dunlop, BID manager, said: “We must give a huge thank you to all of the groups who made the day a success.”
